What Does Mild Fluid Collection At The Pouch Of Douglas Indicate?
I just had an abdominal and pelvic scan. The result of the scan is that there is significant amount inflammatory tissue reaction in both adnexae as well as in the pouch of Douglas causing poor interface between the pelvic organ. There is mild fluid collection at the pouch of Douglas. No mass, no cyesis. What does it mean.
You are suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease(PID). PID is indicated by mild fluid in pouch of douglas and significant amount inflammatory tissue reaction in both adnexa as well as in the pouch of Douglas. PID may be due to many causes like bacteria,T.B etc.
You also need clinical correlation.Further investigations like routine hemogram, Pap smear, laproscopic examination can be done if needed.
Treatment depend upon underlying cause. You should consult your gynecologist.
Hope i have answered your query. Get well soon.
