What Does Hypoechoic Area Inferior Tip Of Placenta In The Ultrasound Report Mean ?

Hi, I recently had my 19 week ultrasound and I was given the report and have a few questions. What does hypoechoic area inferior tip of placenta ? Marginal sinus 3.6x 0.8x4.3 cm. cord noted inserting 2.08cm from left superior placental edge mean and how does it relate to my baby s health. Second, what is the cavum septum pellucidum, it was suboptimally visualized, and again how does that relate to the growth and development of my baby? Thank you so much for your time

Hi,thanks for writing..
The report means that placenta has vanous sinus at the lwer margin.. Cord is usually inserted at the middle of plkacenta.. But here cord is inserted at the superior edge of placenta.. Cavum septum pellucidum is an important part of the brain.. Its small size affect the baby's brain development.. this need to be evaluated in detail by 4D TIFFA scan and fetal MRI.. Any anomaly should be detected at the earliest.. Hope i have answered your query.. good day..
