What Does Heart Rate Of 122 And BP Of 90/48 Indicate?

My mom is at her neighbor s house who is a 70 plus diabetic female who lives alone. Her heart rate is 122 and her BP is low around 90/48. She is a little confused and said she has been on the couch all day. Her blood sugar is 178. My mom wants to know if she should call 911?

Yes, she should call 911. The high heart rate and low BP suggest a serious problem. She could have a blood infection, has had internal bleeding, is severely dehydrated, or had a heart attack. This is definitely an emergency. Call 911 right away.
