What Does Elevated WBC Count Indicate?

Hi, My moms wbc is over 22 k/ul, mono count is 1080 cells/uL and 15050 cells/uL. Her pcp refered her to a hemotolgyst because she cant tell why her wbc keeps going up rather than down. Her blood work was normal in March 2014 shechecks her blood often and it was normal then she needed surgery August 2014 for her nerve and disc pain but couldnt do it due to high wbc of 12 k/ul. It has been up and down since then and now its over 22 k/uL. She has no symtoms of feeling ill, all organs were checket out and are normal. My moms scared that its leukemia? Please help? She will see a hemotologyst next week but is under so much stress.

Hello ,
As you mentioned that there is high WBC count of your mother , that is not good sign , you must go to Hematologist as soon as possible and consult , it may be the possibility of early stage of leukemia or otherwise must be rule out earlist possible . Good Luck and take care.
