My sister has been in a ICU for 6 days after she collapsed after fighting bad case of bronchitis. Upon original diagnosis of a large PE in lung, fever, infection, detox necessary from nicotine/alcohol, chills, shaking, confusion, severe loss of hearing, no appetite...she was put on blood thinners and now blood is too thin after 24 hours without thinner (gums, roof of mouth bleeding). Now has low blood platelets and received 2 pints of blood 2 days ago. Blood pressure was 49/16 when she entered ICU; last count the top number was 157. She has COPD, slight jaundice, struggling to breathe and is now septic we were told this morning. She is progressively getting worse. How do we determine if she should be moved to a different hospital?
