What Does An Immature Follicle For Abnormal Bleeding Indicate?
I had an abnormal bleeding last May 2017. Had a transV done. What does immature follicle mean? My right ovary is normal in size while left ovary has an immature follicle noted. My endometrium is thin.Small hyperechoic structure are seen suggestive of polyps are seen within the endometrial cavity
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Immature follicle means a follicle which has not developed completely enough to release the ovum; in other words, it cannot release the ovum. It may grow in course of time or wither away. In view of the abnormal bleeding and the finding of endometrial polyps in sonographic appearance, you may need an endometrial biopsy and histopathological examination of the polyps after removal. You can get it through hysteroscopy or dilatation and curettage. Further management should be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
