What Does Abdominal Pain Along With Low Grade Fever Indicate?

I have been diagnosed with possible stomach flu by pcp, but I am not having diarrhea. I was vomiting a few days ago, but not now. My current symptoms: abdominal pain, low grade fever, malaise. Also, on my blood work my wbc was 11.9, neutrophils 10,3 and my glucose 151. I am not a diabetic, never have been. Do you agree this is stomach flu?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can be gastritis from stomach infection.

As it is since few days, bacterial gastritis also can be the possibility especially; H. Pylori gastritis has to be ruled out. For that, urea breath test can be done.

If still need further work up than USG abdomen scan should be done. If still cause not clear, then endoscopy can be planned. Until then, Rabeprazole once a day for week can be prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
