What Does A White Spot On Chest X-ray Suggest After Taking TB Treatment?
i just wondering how do i now that i already cured about minimal ptb... i don't have cough. or any signs right now.. i already take medicines a year a go when i diagnose that i had tb. but when i have my x-ray lately still have a little white spot.. how do i know if it is inactive..?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. This white spot on chest x ray is mostly due to healed tb lesion. Tuberculosis after treatment heal by either fibrosis or calcification and both these appear as white spot on chest x ray. But to prove that this lesion is inactive, you need to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax with Contrast 2. Bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis. If both these are negative for tuberculosis or other infection then no need to worry for active lesion. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
