General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
There are 4 strains which can cause typhoid fever .
In your case Salmonella Typhi "O" is strongly POSITIVE , while same is with Salmonella typhi "B" POSIVITE .
Rest of two are negative .
When such patient visit in my clinic I advise them to take CIPROFLOXACIN 500 mg ( 8-10 mg / kg body weight ) for two to four weeks .
With ciprofloxacin you can take pantoprazole - D .
Since this is a prescription drug , so please consult a physician and get his opinion.
In old days the drug of choice was Chloramphenicol 500 mg 4 times in day for 14 days but due to side effects ( blood dyscrasia ) doctors now a days don't like this drug.
Good luck.
