What Does A Lump In Throat Indicates?

What is the lump in the throat that appeared after vomiting?Last night I drank too much and threw up many times this morning. There is a lump in my throat that makes it uncomfortable to swallow and it also just constantly hurts. Is this something I should Worry About?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
The lump in the throat after severe vomiting can be due to Pharyngitis due to GERD, the acid secretions causing pharyngitis and edema thereupon. Start taking Ranitidine or PPI, Domperidone and antacid gel, consult an ENT surgeon to look into the pharynx. He would start antibiotics only if there are signs of infection. Otherwise the treatment mentioned above should be sufficient.
Stop Drinking, take soft bland diet.
Upper GI Endoscopy along with Pharyngoscopy can help to diagnose gastritis or so.
