What Does A Lump In The Groin Area Indicate?

hello, I am a 21 year old female. I recently noticed a lump in my groin on the right side. I went to the gynecologist, she confirmed it was a swollen lymph node and she checked me for stds. I havent gotten the results back yet, but I am getting worried. The first lump has gotten much larger, and I have found 3 other lumps, one in my groin on the left side, and two in my neck. Also the largest lump has a pulse. Is this normal? Or am I overreacting.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I agree with your doctor that the symptoms seem to be related to a reactive lymph node. The reactive lymph nodes are caused by the presence of an infection in the system.

I suggest doing a blood test and a urine test for further evaluation and specific treatment. You should not be worried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
