What Does TSH Level Of 9.26 Suggest?

Hi Doctor,
My wife's TSH level is 9.26, and the doctor advised Thyronorm 50 . After taking the first dosage this morning she had severe Headache and shivering in her legs for 3-4 hrs during afternoon. ..is this normal , should she continue the dosage.

Hi I can understand your concern....

Thyroid hormone in normal amount essential for maintaining meabolic rate and organ functioning proper.....

You have high TSH level ....Suggesting hypothyroidism .....

So for that you are given levothyroxine thyroid hormone treatment. ...

Thyronorm can lead fever and sweating , fatigue like side effect. ...
But don't stop drug for that ....

Continue usage of drug and every three monthly check thyroid profile and maintainence dose taken according to that...
