Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

POD is Pouch of Douglas, which is visualized to rule out any free fluid, ectopic pregnancies, autoamputation of ovaries, etc. A POD which is free, reports no such abnormalities, and is considered a normal study.

A POD positive, could indicate the presence of free fluid(hemoperitonuem) or substances. Please discuss this with your doctor at the earliest.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
