What Does Bilateral Renal Parenchymal Disease Grade 1 Indicate?
Bilateral renal parenchymal disease grade 1 with creatnine level 5.2 Both kidneys are normal in size, shape and position.Increased cortical echogenecity, however there is good cortico medullary distinction. No stone, mass or hydronephrosis. Right kidney measures:11.2x5.2x1.7 cm Left Kidney measures:10.x5.6x1.7 cm
Serum creatinine levels are safe up to 1.5 in most labs. A creatinine of 5.2 requires a consultation with a nephrologist. Bilateral grade 1 parenchymal disease signifies mild to moderate kidney impairment and this is obvious in the creatinine test. This can be due to many conditions among hypertension, diabetes and auto immune anti bodies. A ultrasound guided kidney biopsy might be required to confirm the pathological diagnosis. If neglected it can progress to kidney failure in few months.
