Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Serum creatinine levels are safe up to 1.5 in most labs. A creatinine of 5.2 requires a consultation with a nephrologist. Bilateral grade 1 parenchymal disease signifies mild to moderate kidney impairment and this is obvious in the creatinine test. This can be due to many conditions among hypertension, diabetes and auto immune anti bodies. A ultrasound guided kidney biopsy might be required to confirm the pathological diagnosis. If neglected it can progress to kidney failure in few months.
