What Do You Suggest For Weight Gain When On Lasix And Water Therapy?

I have gained 50 pounds in the past 7 or 8 months and I seems to be about the time I started taking 40mg of Lasix daily. Was on HTZ for about 6 years and several times durnning time dr. would change me over to Lasix until the swelling in ankles went down. This summer that didn't wasn't the case ankles and lower legs stayed swollen. I have fibromyalgia so I am limited to what I can do as far as exceries. Have been doing water theraphy for 6 years. I am miserable with all of this weight. NO THANK YOU DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A FEE

Hi and thank you so much for this query

I am so sorry to hear about this weight gain. If you have been on water pills and the swelling persists, then you are most likely not receiving enough to get enough fluid sent out of the body. The best thing to do would be to increase the dose of this drug. Also, avoid drinking much water and consuming much salt as these worsen the edema. If i may ask, what is the cause of this edema because we may also need to treat the origin and not just the symptom.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
