What Do You Suggest For Taking Refills Of Alprazolam Every Month?

Hi, I have recently started taking Alprazolam. My doctor wants to see me once a month to get refills. I m not really sure why and just found out. This, even with insurance can be expensive. I understand it is considered a controlled substance, but if I need to go every month why bother taking them. Just a little unsure right now.

Dear sir

Alprazolam belongs to benzodiazepines, which is anxiolytic in nature.

It is usually given for decreasing anxiety and to induce sleep

But it has the property of addition when taken for a long time, so you will be advised to review periodically with the prescribing doctor to ruleout the possiblity of addicition.

Thanks
