What Do You Suggest For Red Bruises On My Skin When On Prednisone?
I was on prednisone for 11 months and have been off it 17 months. I find that my skin is easily injured, bruises that are red and take an inordinate amount of time to heal. The skin tears or peels very easily. Is my skin ever going to go back to normal.
You have taken steroids for long time. For what disease, you not mentioned. But, remember long term taking of steroids may cause many dermatologic and systemic side effects. You have bruise means ecchymosis. It may be called purpura also. It may occur after long term intake of steroid. Steroid may cause skin atrophy, telangiectasis.stria etc. Immunity may be reduced due to steroid. This may be responsible for delayed healing after injury. You consult dermatologist and have proper treatment. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
