What Do You Suggest For Intermittent Episodes Of Throbbing In The Ear?

All day Friday I had a feeling of pressure in my left ear, and sound was somewhat muffled. Saturday morning it was gone. However, I am having intermittent episodes of throbbing in that ear today, although most of the time my ear has felt fine today. What could be causing this, and what can be done about it?
