What Do You Suggest For Hunger Even After Eating?

My Brother complains about chest pressure pain, a growing fire in his lower back to his mid-back, but he thinks it is his stomach, because he feels stomach pain. He says he feels like acid. That his stools feel acidic. He went to see a stomach specialist, but they only prescribed him strong anti-acid pills. However he has been taking the pills, he still feels sick, and that the pills have no affect on his condition. And now he is complaining about feeling very hungry, even though he just ate! He farts and burps even though we hardly eat anything at times. He works all day as a server. He is in good shape. Age 28. 165lbs. The problem has been coming and going for months, but now its really bothering him. He says he feels his back starting to burn crawl, low to mid, usually around 2pm in the day and persists til sleep. This is all I can relay for now. Any help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post is attributed to accumulation of gas secondary to increased acid production in the stomach.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained with intake of Pantoprazole preparation (to be taken twice a day before meals) & antacid gel (to be taken after meals).
They prevent formation of excess acid in the stomach & provide symptomatic relief.

And it is also needed that your brother take certain precautions regarding his diet & lifestyle, such as:
1. Take soft, plain, non-spicy foods
2. Drink lots of water to maintain adequate hydration
3. Avoid fast foods & gas producing food products like cabbage, etc.
4. Avoid smoking & alcohol.
5. Keep away stress, think positive.

There is no need to worry, he will be fine.
Wishing a good health.
Take care.
