Hi Looking at your pap smear report it appears that you are having infection along with mild dysplastic changes. Normally vagina is inhabited by bacteria like lactobacilli which maintains the pH and prevents any other infection. Shift in vaginal flora means presence of Coccobacilli usually gardnerella vaginalis infection which needs to be treated. Coming to dysplasia, low grade cytopathic changes occur with Human papilloma virus infection, this might progress to high grade lesion or even malignancy. Its important to follow up for such a lesion, and in my opinion discuss with your consulting doctor for the need for biopsy study after control of infection. Also get pap smear examination done once in a year to detect early lesions. Regards
