What Do The Brain Scan Findings Following A Fall Suggest?
my brother age 18 years. he had fallen from 2nd floor.he had two bouts of meningitis 2005/2011. to look for CSF leak .there is a defect measuring around 5mm in the posterior aspect of the right cribriform plate.just lateral to the posterior aspect of the crista galli ,`~1.2cm anterior to the sphenoid sinus and ~ 4.5cm posterior to the glabella.
there is herniation of meninges,subarachnoid space and part of the right olfactory tract and gyrus rectus into this defect,extending inferiorly into the nasal cavity upto a level lateral to the middle turbinate.
There is probably another small defect in the region of the roof of the right frontal sinus orbit posteriorly with herniation of the adjacent meninjes and basi frontal region into this defect,measuring ~ 4 mm.
DIAGNOSIS-MENINGOCOELE RIGHT CRIBRIFORM PLATE FOLLOWING # BASE OF SKULL BILATERAL SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS.
