What Do Painless Itchy Reddish Brown Marks Underneath Breasts Indicate?
Hello I have noticed what looks like dark bruise marks underneath my breasts. They are like a reddish brown color and sometimes they itch. Lately they have started to flake. I thought that the dark marks were due to the underwire in my bra but I have noticed that the marks never go away and are consistently there. There is no soreness or pain but I am afraid of what it could mean.

I would keep a possibility of Erythrasma. Erythrasma is a chronic superficial infection of the intertriginous areas of the skin.
The incriminated organism is Corynebacterium minutissimum.
Dark discoloration associated with erythrasma is usually limited to body folds that are naturally moist and occluded. Infection commonly is asymptomatic, but it can be pruritic.
The typical appearance of erythrasma is well-demarcated, brown-red macular patches. The skin has a wrinkled appearance with fine scales
Treatment is with oral erythromycin Or topical erythromycin Or with topical clindamycin for 2 weeks
