What Could Lumps On Leg With Bruises Suggest?

I have a lump about the size of a quarter on the oside of my leg above the knee. Its hard and very painful. Its red and looks a little bruised. And some days its surrounded by a larger pink area and some days its not. I woke up today with a low grade fever. I have tried hot compresses to see if it would form a head thinking it might be a boil. Do you have any advice?

HI,Welcome with your query to HCM.
Based on the facts of your query, you seem to have Unripe Boil on outer side of leg above the knee,as the larger pink areas around are suggestive of cellulitis with Boil. The low grade fever today confirms it being Boil with cellultis and unripe still.
Remedy-
At this Stage I would advise Cold Compresses to restrict its spread and reduce your complications and pains.
Tab Motrin and Opinion with your GP doctor would help you.
Hope this reply would help you to plan treatment of your lump.
Will appreciate writing your feedback review comments,to help the needy patients like you at HCM.
