What Could Irregular Periods In Perimenopausal Woman Indicate?
I am 46 yrs old. My FSH level is 68. Doctor told me I am perimenopausal. My periods stopped earlier this year for just over 3 months. Then I got my periods twice after that. Now my periods stopped again for about 2 months. For the last two months, almost everyday, I feel like I am getting my periods but without the bleeding. Does this have something to do with the hormone levels or could it be something serious. Thank you. Lana
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Your FSH level is in the postmenopausal range. Considering your age, you could be in the perimenopausal phase, where there is wide variation in the menstrual cycles. Usually, it is a part of the process and there is nothing to worry. Please get regular health check up along with pap smear and sonogram of the pelvis, preferably through the trans-vaginal route. Maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly and take healthy diet. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
