What Could Groin Pain In Children Suggest?

My 2 /12 year old daughter has been experiencing pain in her groin for a few weeks. i happens 1 or twice a day where she screams and cries for a minute or two then it seems to go away, sometimes it dosn't happen for a few days. when I as her where it hurts she points to her groin not her vagina and dose not seem to be experiencing any difficulty or pain while urinating. Nor dose she seem uncomfortable at any other times and continues to be as active as ever. Because of the intermitant nature of the pain and apparent lack of any other symptoms such as swelling or fever I have not seen a doctor as yet however as it seems to have continued for a period of time I am begining to worry.
