Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having dizziness and feeling like my heart is racing as well as feeling feverish with out there actually being a fever. I m also feeling very sluggish and feel like its hard to breath, i know I m getting enough air however i was wondering if it was something silly or if i should go to see a doctor.
Hi welcome to HCM. Fever can result in accelerated metabolism resulting in fluctuations in blood pressure and increase in the heart rate. Control of fever through antipyretics will help to lower the temperature. The blood pressure and heart rate will soon return to baseline with resolution of fever. I advise you to have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease. Home oxygen therapy will help to improve the airflow and oxygenation through lungs. Hydrate yourself adequately with 4 litres of water a day to avoid dizziness. Consult your cardiologist for further assistance. Thank you.
