What Could Cause Swollen, Painful Nose, Achy Eyes And Sinuses, Recently Had Ear And Upper Respiratory Tract Infection?

I have been blowing my nose for days. Had an ear and upper respiratory infection a month ago. I woke up yesterday with a swollen nose. At first it was the tip, now the whole right side of my nose is swollen and hurts to touch and is red. I can't touch it and now my eye and sinuses are aching. Its this just a cold. Looks like someone punched me in the nose. it is so shiney.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding cold , swollen and painful nose, you are also having sinus issue.

I am suspecting that most likely you are having upper respiratory tract infection involving nose, sinuses and throat which is responsible for headache and swelling on right side of nose is because of vestibulitis nose or there may be associated thrombophlebitis of right angular vein.

You are advice not to squeeze or pinch nose otherwise this may extend to involve cavernous sinus.

You are now advice to do-

1- Steam inhalation.

2- Take antihistaminic.

3- Analgesic with antipyretic.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

I wish this will help you.

Regards.
