What Could Cause Soft Black Stool?
Have had black soft stools all day today. Has never happened before. However, since Thanksgiving I have been on the go eating fast food and other junk food and have not eliminated properly. I introduced Benefiber in my diet on yesterday. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis last year.

Dear black color stools may be due to
upper gi bleeds, iron tablets, bismuth sulphate consumption, eating of green leafy vegetables etc.
But diverticulitis also can gives rise to bleeding leads to black stool.
Consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
