What Could Cause Pain In Forehead, Blue Toes With History Of Being Diabetic And Having Heart Attack?

Was hoping my husband s cardiologist would call us back. I need some advice on my husband s problem. One month ago he had a heart attack, Cath didn t work, due to veins to twisted. He is experiencing on and off pain on the left side of his forehead. Pretty regular and painful. His toes, on left foot are turning blue. Especially his big toe. I know this is a diabetic neuropathy problem, but we need to know if this is a serious situation or not. Yes, he is diabetic, but not on shots. This blue toe problem is new. So are the headaches. He refuses to go to emergency room. We are poor. I don t know what to do.

Hi and thank you so much for this query

I am so sorry to hear about this. Blue toes is not exactly a diabetic neuropathy. This resembles gangrene which would be one of the most feared complications of diabetes that often leads to amputation. Please, do all in your powers to get him to the hospital. He needs to get this looked at as soon as possible for best treatment. Also, what have his blood sugar numbers been like? are they well controlled? It is a serious condition and requires immediate evaluation and management.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
