Hello,

On and off pain in the joints of fingers can be caused due to arthritis. As you have already consulted with the doctor about this. Have you been diagnosed for arthritis after doing all the diagnostic tests? If not, I would suggest you to see a rheumatologist for it.

The rheumatologist will take all detailed history and do a physical examination. After that, if necessary, he will ask you to get some diagnostic tests done which include some blood tests and imaging tests like X-ray of the hand which are very important to make a diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is done, you will be treated with appropriate medicines which help in relieving the symptoms.

Hope this helps, feel free to contact for any further queries in future.
