Hello,
If you had post coital bleeding in between cycles, you should suspect vaginitis, cervicitis, erosions and polyps. If the bleeding was seen soon after a period, it could be due to the menstrual bleeding itself. Either way, a speculum exam by a specialist will reveal the possible cause and thus, further management can be planned. Infections can be detected by swabs while a pap smear can help to identify cervical erosions and their nature; a colposcopy may sometimes be needed. Polyps can be removed through a small procedure. Hope this helps.
