What Could Be Wrong If Having Pain In Throat Radiating To Ears?

Hi. I have been having a problem with a sharp pulling pain in my throat "not a typical sore throat pain" the pain travels down behind my ears and circles around my collar bone and my ears have been having the same pain. I feel fine. No fevers or anything like that.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of having pain in throat radiating to ears which could be injury to eardrum, eustachian tube dysfunction, accumulation of earwax and due to systemic disease. Need not to worry as it is due to creation of negative pressure inside ears. If you have breathing difficulty , difficulty in speaking , bleeding and severe pain in throat and ear then consult ENT specialist without any delay. Doctor may order CT scan, MRI , X-ray and examination with otoscope and laryngoscope to rule out any serious damage to trachea and other vital structure . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory and may perform surgical procedure .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
