What Could Be The Symptoms Of Colon Cancer After Stage 4?

My husband has Stage IV colon cancer; has had chemo off and on for five years. He is now on hospice, as he could no longer tolerate the treatment. Is there always intense pain when a person dies from colon cancer? Or can they go into a coma and die peacefully. Thank you.

Patient with stage 4 cancer in hospice needs good analgesia with narcotics and even mild anesthetic agents for end of life care to render them pain free.
Please discuss it with the patient's doctor.
