What Could Be The Reason To Have Prolonged Periods And Then A Short Break And The Cycle Repeats Again?

what happens if you have been on your period on and off for the past month and a few weeks. I went to a doctor and they said its normal. its mostly a heavy flow and right now it has been going on for 11 days straight no stopping. Other times it would stop for 1-3 days and start back up again. Is there something wrong with me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Symptoms of heavy blood loss or "Menorrhaggia"
Symptoms of frequent blood loss or "Polymenorrhea"
..are both Gynaec emergencies.
How old are you ?
Does the blood loss include any pain in the abdomen or cramps ?
Heavy blood loss may lead to Anaemia,Hypovolemic shock.
Either way,the best option will be to get and Ultrasound done of your abdomen to rule out any Uterine disorders/Bleeding fibroids and visit a Hospital as soon as possible.
Good Luck !
