My son-in-law is 34 years old, he s been on one high blood pressure medication after the other, nothing is helping. Yesterday he was scheduled for a stress test, they shaved his cheat, had him all ready to go, took his b/p . It was 164/118. They cancelled the test & sent him home. His general practitioner called & told him he d called in another medication. He went to pick it up and found out, it was an anti-depressant, side effects included possible suicidal thoughts and violent tendencies . He left the medication at the pharmacy, he didn t want to hurt his wife or 3 children as a result of medication. Why would a anti-depressant have been prescribed for high blood pressure?
