What Could Be The Reason For Having Pain In My Right Ear?

My name is Wilmer, last night while i was sleeping, i woke up in the middle of the night with my right ear in pain. When i stretch i can feel a pull or something like that. I also cant hear anything from my right ear. If i close my right ear to try and not hear anything, it feels the same as if i wasn't trying to close it. At first i thought it was an insect that went into my ear and did something, but i don't know. Please help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from pain in my right ear which could be due to accumulation of wax in ear canal, plenty of sources of loud, continuous noise , impacted earwax , infection in the ear canal. Even medicines can causes hearing loss such as antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs. But in your case it seems to me that infection of ear canal is responsible for hearing loss and pain . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and rule out above conditions . Doctor may order CT scan and examine with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( gentamicine ) for at least 10 days along with medicine to reduce inflammation . Doctor may also place tubes for drainage.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
