What Could Be The Lump On The Thyroid That Is Causing Shortness Of Breath, Muscle Weakness And Shaky Hands?

Hi My daughter has many hyperhyroid problems. low body tempeture, tired, muscle weakness, cant excercise like she could befor cause of exhaustion, and climbing her stairs she has a hard time catching her breath, and heart beat super hard and way to fast leaving her exhausted, shaky hands, loss of smell, etc and her tsh test is .7 and she has a module on her thyroid but Kaiser wont treat her they say tsh isnt low enough and the lump in the thyroid isnt big enough and she is ok. Is there something she can buy over the counter that will help her fix her thyroid?

Dear patient.
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I can understand your concern for your daughter's thyroid problem. I will try my best to answer your question and guide you through the problem.

Your daughter can be given propranolol 10 mg thrice a day for symptomatic relief of tremors, anxiety and palpitations . I would also recommend getting a thyroid scan done to know if the nodule is a hot nodule or a cold nodule. FNAC of the nodule is also important for ruling out a malignancy. Once these are done we can then determine further course of action and if she needs anti-thyroid drugs or radiation with iodine 131.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
