Hi,

A scar is often difficult to treat when it turns old.At times scar turns in to keloid which causes itching and pain. Instead of complete removal, scar reduction is possible. Many treatment options are available for this like creams containing silicon, intra lesional steroids, platelet therapy, scar surgery. An opinion of a dermatologist and plastic surgeon will be helpful.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
