What Could Backpain And Bruises With Red Dots On Either Side Of Spine Indicate?

Hello my 16 year old daughter has been complaining with back pain for a couple months now. Today we noticed a bruise on either side of her spine, but her spine is a lighter shade of white than the rest of her back. The bruise has red dots in it and doesn t really hurt when touched or pushed on it. She doesn t recall injuring herself. I am concerned. Her doctor is out of town for the next week wondering if I should wait for his return or try to get her in to see someone else sooner.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is important performing a physical exam of this region, an abdominal ultrasound and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, coagulation tests). If her doctor is out of town, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
