What Could CT Scan Showing Hypodense Area In Left Corona Radiata Region Mean?
As per my mother's C.T SCAN Report
1-Hypodense area seen in left CORONA RADIATA region. 2-both lateral and 3rd ventricles are normal with septum in mid line. 3-basal cisterns, sylvian fissure and cortical sulci are normal. 4-both cerebellar hemisphere are normal. 5-region of brain stem is normal 6-iv th ventricle is normal.
The affected part is right hand and leg. She can feel the touch but not able to move hand.
The question is what the point 1 refers to the status of patient and what are the implications of this attack. Also how fast the recovery we can expect in this case
I read your question carefully and understand your concern.
The hypodense area is most likely a stroke. The left corona radiata contains fibers which supply right leg and arm. Most important right now is to do physical therapy and rehab as soon as possible and secondly to find out why your mother head a stroke (holter EKG, cardiac echogram, neck sonogram).
Recovery can be full if the infarction area is not too big and if you start physical therapy right away.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
