Hallow Dear, It seems you were given Mifepristone and Misoprostol for terminating the pregnancy, thinking the baby is non-viable. However, the medicines have failed to terminate the pregnancy, and moreover, the baby is alive and growing. However, these medicines which you have taken for termination of pregnancy are teratogenic. They cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence WHO has recommended that if these medicines fail to abort, the pregnancy should not be continued but be terminated by some suitable appropriate surgical technique. Thus your Gynaecologist has advised you correctly to undergo surgical abortion. Since the pregnancy is more than 9 weeks but less than 12 weeks, suction evacuation by electric suction should be the most appropriate and safe method to terminate this pregnancy.
