What Causes White Spot In The Back Of Throat?

I have a white spot on the left side in the back of my throat. There is no pain. I also have this feeling that there is constantly food or something stuck in my throat. I have no pain to the back of my throat either...just discomfort from feeling like I need to clear my throat constantly. What can this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to tonsil stones.

When stones form, you can remove them either by gently pressing them out with a cotton swab.
Gargling vigorously with salt water can ease throat discomfort and may help dislodge tonsil stones. Salt water may also help to change your mouth chemistry. It can also help get rid of the odor tonsil stones can cause. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces of warm water, and gargle.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
