For 2-3 years I have had a cottage cheese like discharge coming from down stairs. It s associated with a very nasty unbearable odor that has only become more consistent and recently my periods have become more painful than normal. Also they are very black and clotted looking. I didnt think anything of it til my boyfriend told me my vagina was stinky. Is this a normal thing or do I need to go see a doctor. I also should point out that 2 years ago I hadd a miscarriage. I wasnt very far along and didnt go to the doctor for it and breast cancer runs in my family. (Mom grandma and both aunts )
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Cottage cheese vaginal discharge and stinking smell in the vagina is highly suggestive of fungal infection in vagina. I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined internally, get a vaginal swab examination done to confirm the type of infection and get appropriate treatment. Hope you found the answer helpful. Regards Dr Deepti Verma OBGYN
