What Causes White Color Stool When Suffering From Hepatitis?

I am a hepatitis a positive,having bilirubin of 2.4mg%,S.G.PT 87u/ml,S.G.O.T 97u/ml,Alk.phosphatase 187KAunit%.My doctor advised me ursocol 300mgb.d ,fat free diet & rest. I have noticed my stool colour becomes whitish,urine colour deep straw.My U.S.G of whole abdomen was normal. For the last one month I have been taking the medicicine ursocol & following the doctor s advice. Why my stool colour is whitish & how long time will be needed to make me free of such stage.

In obstructive jaundice stool can be clay coloured. ..

Here you can have acute hepatitis like liver infection that is improving now with drugs and low fat diet ...

Investigate with following needed in such jaundice case. ...(apart from USG )
1.Peripheral smear and retic count
2.HBSag (if not vaccinated )
3.HCV antibody by ELISA
4.Urine urobilinigen and bilirubin

These will help in deciding further diagnosis ...

Take good food for liver like .....
-carrot
-spinach
-sugar can juice
-apple juice
-avocados
-red beet
-Indian gooseberry etc.....

If you are not improving and still stool remain clay coloured contact gastroenterologist for examination...
