General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

The first thing that comes to my mind is low thyroid hormone levels. It can explain many of the symptoms you have described, like weight gain despite not eating more, headaches, lethargy, and even depression. I would recommend that you pay a visit to your local doctor's to get your thyroid hormone levels checked to make sure that this is not the case, because it is easily treated.

If your tests and checkup are all normal, then you also need to consider whether you are actually depressed. Depression can also cause all the physical symptoms that you have just described, and I would strongly advise you to explain to your doctor how you are feeling. Don't be afraid to get help with a psychiatrist while you still have the energy to.

Hope this helps, please let us know if you have further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Teh
