Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are highly likely having hypothyroidism even you are on thyroxine.
Hypothyroidism (underactive) is when the thyroid glands produce less thyroid hormone than the body needs. Mostly the hormones regulate bodily processes such as heart rate, blood pressure, gastrointestinal function, menstrual cycles etc. In hypothyroidism almost all bodily processes slows down and patients may gain extra weight.
If your doctor prescribed thyroxine your thyroid function should be assessed for the response to the treatment every 2 months after the treatment until TSH and T4 levels come to the normal range and the dose of the thyroxine should be adjusted. When normal range of the TSH and T4 is achieved you should be checked annually TSH and T4 levels.
Please, make an appointment with your doctor and get TSH and T4 levels checked. According to the values the doctor will adjust (likely increase) the dose of the medicine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you,
Malik Amonov MD
