What Causes Vulva Throbbing Sensation With Soreness And Inflammation?

10 days ago I suddenly began to feel a throbbing sensation in my vulva as I was urinating. It also felt warmer than normal. There was no pain, but the discomfort was severe as immediately after urinating the throbbing continued and the are felt inflamed and sore. Attached to the throbbing sensation, I still felt I needed to pee, urgently, but couldn t since I had just urinated. I immediately saw my doctor who suggested Bactrim F. Today was my last day of treatment and the symptoms have not gotten better. Could it be something else?
