What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea, Pain In Back, Abdomen And Hot Sweats During Pregnancy?
Hello, i am 37 week 4 days pregnant. Since tuesday I have been suffering with vomiting, diarrhoea, back pains, abdomen pains and hot sweats.. It is now sunday night. I did ring my hospital on tuesday and they said to just rest.. Which I have but doesnt seem to be helping. Any advice? Thanks
Very likely you are having an infection causing you the symptoms and most likely this is gastroenteritis (a viral infection of your stomach and bowel). This is generally a self-limiting condition and should fade in a few days. Meanwhile, you need to make sure you take plenty of fluids (oral rehydration solutions as over the counter to substitute water and electrolytes), try to eat well and rest as needed. You may use paracetamol to help with the hot sweats and pains.
If you are not better in 3-4 days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
