What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea?

My mother has been sick for several days, she is 77 years old. I am her oldest daughter and caregiver. She has been throwing up diarrhea, extremely tired. We have been to the doctors 3 times the last time they sent us to the ER for IV therapy 2 liters of saline. Her sodium was 122 at the doctors office. The Er was able to raise it up to 126. She felt great yesterday one day after the IV therapy. Today she has started feeling nauseated again and is cold and clammy extremities are really cold to the touch. She also feels very cold. EKG was normal. I am still worried something is up they are not finding.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Correcting the fluid in body through IV therapy is the symptomatic therapy and it may not be the curative treatment if the symptoms are due to some intestinal infection or it is due to some allergic condition besides these symptoms needs to be ruled out for the inflammatory colon disease.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know for further assistance if needed.
