Hi! Your concern is understandable. Had you mentioned the indication for your
hysterectomy, it would have been better.
During hysterectomy, if it is done through the abdominal route, there are two
incisions. One is on the abdomen which you can see. The other incision is right at the top of vagina. Both are sutured.
Some times, the incision inside the vagina develops a granular tissue or sometimes it gets infected also. In such cases, bleeding can take place. Infected scar also will give rise to foul smelling discharge also.
In your case, it seems, small amount of blood has come from this scar at the top of the vagina. If the bleeding is not continuing, the things are not serious, still you should report this to your Gynaecologist who has performed hysterectomy on you. We have seen alarming bleeding from vaginal
scars occasionally.
